Government Increases the Target for Solid Wall Insulation in Response to INCA Evidence

The Government has increased the target for Solid Wall Insulation (SWI) measures from 17,000 a year to 21,000 a year in response to evidence provided by INCA on behalf of the external wall insulation industry.  Last year, the Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA) called on the Government to double the target for Solid Wall Insulation (SWI) measures in the 2017 ECO transition period and welcomes the 24% increase announced today.

Analysis undertaken by AgilityEco on behalf of INCA showed that the cost estimates in the Government Impact Assessment were overstated by more than £200 million and that the ECO support required to deliver SWI was much lower than assumed.  Whilst the increase has been welcomed, INCA believes the target still falls short and further support could have been provided to support the eight million British households living in solid wall homes.

Best in External Wall Insulation to be Honoured at the INCA Awards 2017

The Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA) Awards 2017, reward the achievements of those in the external wall industry (EWI) and are now open for entries. The annual awards are a benchmark for innovation and excellence in the industry and for many years have been celebrating outstanding performance in EWI which contributes to improving building design, energy efficiency, reducing fuel bills and lifting households out of fuel poverty.

The award categories include two brand new categories; Small Installer of the Year and Large Installer of the Year, which will recognise INCA Contractor members’ community engagement, customer satisfaction, and what sets them apart from the rest. INCA members can submit project entries in two categories, New Build and Refurbishment, to highlight outstanding projects including high rise, commercial, schools and even maybe another Zoo! There are also awards in Innovation, Environment, Training, Outstanding Achievement, and following the success of the Architectural Design Award in 2016, it is back by popular demand.

Just INCAse You Missed the Bonfield Review Report

The Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA) has welcomed the publication of the Each Home Counts report by Peter Bonfield which follows the launch of their new campaign, ‘Just INCAse’ demonstrating the quality of INCA membership.

Published at the end of 2016, the much awaited report makes recommendations on Consumer Advice, Protection, Standards and Enforcement for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. The report sets out 27 recommendations with the most significant one being the setting up of a new standards framework with a Quality Mark that covers all energy efficiency and renewable energy measures, comprising a Consumer Charter, a Code of Conduct and a Code of Practice.
