It is not difficult to understand why the outlook over Morecambe Bay is often referred to as the “Million Dollar View”. With stunning views of the Lakeland Hills, Scafell, Coniston Old Man and the Langdale Pikes, you will never tire of the spectacular scenery across the vast 174 square mile bay, which boasts of some of the most breath-taking sunsets.
Contemporary, open plan living offered in a choice of 1,2 and 3 bedroomed apartments. Combining the ultimate in luxury with the latest technology and designed to take full advantage of the stunning views.
Detailing was always a crucial consideration on this project as the client is always mindful of maintaining the Pure White look across the Morecambe Bay.
K Systems were involved from a very early stage of the design process and the combined team evaluated a vast range of samples and options to ensure both the Architect and Client were happy with the finish which was a K Systems Silicone render finish.
The project used the K Systems M Silicone external wall insulation system which includes eco-friendly mineral wool insulation boards. Future proofing the building by utilising non-combustible insulation ensured we met the latest building safety regulations for high rise properties.
The site was regularly visited by the K Systems Site Technician to inspect progress and ensure the smooth running of the project. The workmanship was of the highest standards following best practice and detailing to ensure old expansion joints and drips at the lintels were hacked off and dubbed out, fire fixings were correctly fixed through the mesh and panels, the bespoke vented gas cover plates were fitted correctly and the surfaces were even and joints correctly sealed. The K Systems team were happy with the compliance to the external wall insulation specification and hence to issue the warranty upon completion.
The Architect chose a Silkolitt finish to give the building a clean and modern finish.
This EWI project is also the recipient of an LABC award.
