SERS were contracted by a private Client to carry out an external render refurbishment on the front elevation of Bethel Baptist Church.

Built during the early twentieth century in a later Vernacular style, the building had become tarnished and warn due to countless years without restoration, with several cracks forming, particularly above some front windows resulting in water ingress penetration and causing considerable damp and mould issues inside the building. The client therefore required SERS Energy Solutions to undertake remediation works on the property and reinstatement of the wall render to bring the properties distinctive façade back to its original recognisable condition.

Works consisted of removing old spalled render, installing a new 3 coat render system (SPSenvirowall), with refurbished windowsills and coping stones.

The external wall refurbishment required a full strip back of the old system that had degraded and broken down over time back to the original substrate, followed by wall repairs. Hand applied SPSenvirowall retro base high polymer insulation basecoat was applied, before a Granosil 1.5mm silicon topcoat to match the original finishes and compliment the original aesthetic appearance.

The client was hugely appreciative of the attention to detail, professionalism of the team undertaking the works and engagement throughout the works. They have also requested a return visit later this year to complete additional works for them too.
