On 12 December, a delegate from the INCA Technical Committee met John Albon, Richard Beale and Brian Moore of the BBA. The aim was to have a frank and open discussion about the how the EWI industry can work better with the BBA in order that all parties are satisfied.

INCA members raised a number of different queries, including project management issues and some below expectation customer service experiences. Further details of specific nature of discussions is available to members by contacting the Secretariat.

The delegation felt reassured to some degree that the problems were in hand, but retained a level of caution since, by the BBA’s own admission, the issues are not quick fixes. One example relates to project management, wherein the BBA have assured members that considerable investment is being made in a new system, but they made clear that this may take up to 2 years to complete.

The BBA accepted that they need to engage more with INCA to assist them in policy making and communication. This is good news for INCA members, showing that we have a strong voice and one that is amplified when we are able to approach stakeholders together.

It was agreed that the same group would meet again in six months’ time to discuss progress and next steps. Further, the BBA requested a regular slot at INCA technical meeting to brief members, and allow us to raise any immediate issues that members are experiencing. To that end, please get in touch about any issues you would like INCA to raise.

On a separate note, thank you for your support of INCA over the last 12 months, and we look forward to working with you in 2019.
