INCA Charity Lunch – Full Details

We are privileged to work in an industry that makes a difference to lives … we’re making homes warm, attractive and reducing energy bills. But we want to encourage you all to go that step further and do your bit for charity too – whichever cause you choose. Here at INCA we have decided to partner for the long-term with CRASH – the construction industry charity. Starting in 2025 we want to lead by example and try to do more for this very worthy and appropriate cause for the industry we work in. Hence our first ever INCA Charity Lunch.

The focus of the day is as follows:

  • CHARITY: Raising money and awareness for our charity CRASH, the work they do and how your support is making a difference. There will also be a raffle with all proceeds from the whole event going to support their efforts.
  • AWARDS: We intend to use the event to recognise and reward those individuals from within our industry and membership who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to raise money for charity in 2024. We want your nominations and the winners will be recognised at the event.
  • MOTIVATION: We want you to feel energised and motivated to do something to make a difference and so we have organised for perhaps the most recognised motivational speaker in the country to get you pumped up. Yes, you’ll have the privilege of spending time in the company of Kriss Akabusi – it promises to be an unforgettable experience!

We are delighted to announce our celebrity speaker for this event is none other than Kriss Akabusi.

Kriss rose to fame on the athletics track, where his greatest individual triumph was winning the gold medal in the 1990 European Championships. This was the day when he beat David Hemery’s British record for the 400 metre hurdles – a record that stood for 22 years before Kriss made his mark on it!

Kriss’ first foray into television and entertainment came when he presented Channel 4’s hit breakfast show, The Big Breakfast.  This was followed with a fulltime position as co-presenter of the BBC’s legendary Record Breakers, as well as presenting various other children’s TV programmes.Today, Kriss is regularly consulted on a variety of radio and television programmes, discussing topics ranging from sport to business. He is also a regular contributor to Sky News’ Paper Review Programme.

Kriss’ engaging personality, inspirational speaking style, and remarkable backstory soon led to a growing demand for his services as a professional speaker.  For over 20 years, he has given countless keynote speeches and facilitated a wide range of training workshops in the corporate arena, under the umbrella of The Akabusi Company.

We think you’re going to really enjoy what Kris has to say!

The focus of this event is all about charity. We therefore felt it appropriate to recognise and appreciate those, from our industry and membership, who have gone above and beyond in raising money for charity over the course of the last year or so.

We’ll therefore be presenting the first ever INCA Award For Charitable Endeavour in recognition of dedicated charitable initiative, fundraising effort and achievement. So, if you believe someone should be considered for recognition, simply tell us who and why … it’s as simple as that.

Note: It’s not all about the amount of money raised or who’s raised the most – it’s about recognising charitable effort, dedication and achievement.

We are now accepting nominations for the award – a very simple process after which we will be revealing a shortlist and presenting the awards at the lunch itself. Just tell us who you’re nominating and why on this form. Deadline to get your nominations in by is the 6th May 2025.
