Background to the Project:
The project saw Newport City Homes utilising ORP funding to deliver works to properties in and around Newport. This particular phase focused on properties referred to as corner blocks and mid-rise flats.
The Solution & Specification:
Structherm EWI was specified alongside a range of energy efficiency measures such as window and doors, re-roofing, ventilation etc.
The Structherm EWI specification consisted of mineral fibre insulation and ArtBrick render finishes to match the existing properties.
The Installation & Challenges on site:
Installation was carried out by Structherm approved installation contractors Joyner Group, who tackled winter weather and subsequent tough conditions in exemplary fashion, to deliver excellent results.
Problems overcome:
The winter weather working presented challenges that the unique ArtBrick product was able to overcome.
The ArtBrick resin layer helped prevent efflorescence from occurring, a common issue that standard brick effect renders can experience.
The End Result:
Newport City Homes are pleased with the results, as are tenants of the retrofitted properties.
The works completed, bringing about much-needed refurbishment and improvement, have certainly enhanced the look and feel of the area, along with ensuring the buildings are kept safe and fit for purpose for the residents, who can now enjoy these invaluable renovations for years to come.
