Thank you to everyone who submitted entries into the INCA Awards 2022. This year we have had record numbers spread across all the different project categories. Shortlisting has therefore been incredibly difficult and final judging was even more so.

INCA are pleased to announce the INCA Awards shortlist 2022. I’m sure you’ll agree, some amazing projects which truly represent the best in EWI across the diverse range of categories. Genuine congratulations go to all those who made the shortlist – this in itself is a real achievement. The over-all category winners will be announced on the night of the awards ceremony on Thursday 17th November 2021, at the Queens Hotel in Leeds. 1: NEW BUILD EWI – Render / Traditional Finish

The criteria for this category is any new build project inorporating a full external wall insulation system and predominantly finished with render or traditional finish (dash, roughcast etc).

The shortlist shows just what can be achieved with an EWI system across all sectors of the new-build construction industry … simply stunning!

2: NEW BUILD EWI – Brick / Clay / Ceramic / Stone Finish

The criteria for this category is any new build project inorporating a full external wall insulation system and predominantly finished with brick-slips or brick / tile / stone effect render finish.

From a visual point of view it’s difficult to tell the difference to real bricks – from a thermal performance perspective though there’s no comparison!

3a: REFURBISHMENT EWI – Render / Traditional Finish: LOW RISE

The criteria for this category is any LOW RISE refurbishment / retrofit project inorporating a full external wall insulation system and predominantly finished with render or traditional finish (dash, roughcast etc).

Not only can EWI improve living standards and deliver energy efficiency – it can transform individual homes and entire communities too!

3b: REFURBISHMENT EWI – Render / Traditional Finish: HIGH RISE

The criteria for this category is any HIGH RISE refurbishment / retrofit project inorporating a full external wall insulation system and predominantly finished with render or traditional finish (dash, roughcast etc).

Improving city landscapes and delivering fuel economy and comfort to residents.

4: REFURBISHMENT EWI – Brick / Clay / Ceramic / Stone Finish

The criteria for this category is any refurbishment / retrofit project inorporating a full external wall insulation system and predominantly finished with brick-slips or brick / tile / stone effect render finish.

Thermal upgrading and modernising existing buildings bt incorporating EWI with clay brick slips, acrylic lightweight systems or brick effect render.

5: RENDER ONLY – Insulation Placed Elsewhere

The criteria for this category is any render only project where the insulation had to be placed elsewhere (eg steel / timber frame).

EWI may not be suitable for all new-build or refurbishment projects but, by incorporating the insulation elsewhere within the system, the resulting thermal performance can be just as effective as can the visual finish.

6: MMC / OFFSITE – Innovative EWI Solutions

This category is all about showcasing innovative external wall insulation solutions for off-site / modern methods of construction.

Innovative EWI solutions that work alongside modern methods of construction or can be incorporated within an off-site system.

7: EWI EXCELLENCE AWARD – Architectural Excellence or Environmental Impact

This category is for external wall insulation projects which demonstrate architectural design excellence or significant, positive environmental impact.

The use of colour, texture, detailing and quality workmanship cand deliver incredibly impressive architectural designs and the environmantal impact can be hugely significant – changing lives for the many and making a massive contribution towards net zero targets.

INCA Awards 2022 – Get Involved

All INCA members and their guests are invited to the 41st INCA Awards ceremony which will be held on Thursday 17th November (Evening) at the Queens Hotel, City Square, Leeds, LS1 1PJ. Winners of each category will be announced on the night from the shortlist above.
