U-value Achieved: 0.25

Ashford Borough Council sought a contractor to fit external wall insulation (EWI) to 13 non-traditionally built Trusteel homes.Quality was demanded and it was specified that the system supplier have a fully integrated ISO management system for Quality Standards ISO 9001, Environmental Standard ISO 14001 and Health and Safety Standard 4500 and be full members of INCA, the Insulated Render and Cladding Association.

Prior to refurbishment the U Value of these post war non-traditional steel framed properties was a very energy inefficient 0.49wm2. Aesthetically they appeared dated.

As appointed system designer, Alsecco worked clsoely alogngside Ashford Council & installation contractor N&J Ltd to deliver an impressive thermal upgrade and external makeover.

The Ecomin 400-Meldorfer system, incorporating 80mm EPS insulation, was specified by Alsecco and installed by N&J Ltd. This resulted in a greatly improved U-value at completion of 0.25wm2k.

Ashford council requested the new Meldorfer slip to match the existing brick and mortar colours. Alsecco provide a colour matching service which meant they were able to achieve a very close match to the existing brick and mortar.

.

Matching these existing brick colours and pointing mortars was no issue for Alsecco`s technical and site team and gave the client the thermal upgrade with aesthetic appearance they required.
