Grainger plc has expanded its portfolio of Build to Rent properties with Enigma Square. This is Grainger’s second Build to Rent development in Milton Keynes, which responds to the increasing demand for Build to Rent properties in the area. The scheme welcomed its first residents in November 2022.

Enigma Square, Milton Keynes includes 261 homes – a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with some featuring balconies. All the homes come furnished with modern furniture. As a new-build development, all Enigma Square apartments are energy efficient and have been graded with an energy performance certificate (EPC) from A to C, with the aim of enabling residents to save on energy bills. A fitness suite and green spaces are also available to the residents.

Located on North Row in the centre of Milton Keynes, Enigma Square is close to city centre amenities, including the Centre: MK shopping centre and Milton Keynes Central Station. The eight-storey development is also a 35-minute commute to central London, benefitting those who work remotely and travel to London on a regular basis.

Rendserve were contracted to carry out the supply and install of the WBS Insulated Render System utilizing 140mm mineral fibre stone wool insulation to the external facades both adhesively & mechanically fixed and incorporating reinforcing mesh, initial and secondary fire fixings. The system was finished in various colours of WBS 4S silicone 1.5mm K including 3 shades of grey, green & mauve with the target u-value of 0.145 W/m²K achieved. There were several tricky interface details around the balconies however with early design engagement, Rendserve’s solutions were suggested and agreed with the architects.

Rendserve also designed, supplied, and installed all the Metsec SFS parapet upstands, hanging perimeter soffit and balcony upstands. To these we supplied and installed all the powder coated aluminium parapet and balcony capping’s and the aluminium soffit cladding giving the contractor a one stop shop for all the external façade finishes.
