John Sparrow, CEO of INCA said:
“It’s important to recognise and not underestimate the role that a credible, trade association code of practice can play in raising standards, improving transparency and giving specifiers, clients and consumers greater confidence when commissioning works. It also helps distinguish the experienced, professional and responsible businesses from those who endanger trust, confidence and industry reputation”.
INCA Membership Criteria
The new INCA Installer Member code of practice is in addition to the existing and extremely robust membership criteria which, on top of the standard business expectations, requires applicants to have a minimum of two years of direct industry experience and for quality and competence to be proven through references and historical works.
This strict membership criteria means that, whether a large or small EWI installer, each member is required to:

- Demonstrate an active trading history as a specialist contractor engaged in the application and/or installation of EWI systems in the UK EWI industry for a minimum of two years
- Operate as an approved installer for at least one UK EWI system supplier
- Provide references / referee details as required (checked by INCA)
- Arrange for independent training of its workforce
- Provide a copy of its training plan / policy
- Confirm that site-based workforce holds CSCS cards, as appropriate
