Beads and trims

Beads and trims used within insulated render and cladding systems fall into three main categories:

  • insulation and render beads
  • render only beads
  • trims and flashings

Beads are normally manufactured from powder coated galvanised steel, aluminium, or mill finish aluminium: stainless steel, pvc render only beads are also available. Trims and flashings are in aluminium or stainless steel.

Fixing methods

  • Adhesive Fixed
Adhesive applied to the back face of the insulation board by method of dabs or continuous combed surface. This allows for bedding and alignment whilst achieving a structural fixing.
  • Mechanically
Adhesive applied to the back face of the insulation board by method of dabs or continuous combed surface. This allows for bedding and alignment whilst achieving a structural fixing.

Direct

A range of proprietary drill and drive and screw fixings in a variety of materials are available to secure the insulation and render carriers to the substrate.

Rail

Proprietary rail which restrains the insulation board achieving alignment and accommodating inconsistencies in the substrate. The rails in turn must be suitably fixed to the substrate to achieve the desired load resistance.

Rainscreen Systems

Bracket and rail principles are common and often include bespoke components. These provide support for a variety of proprietary preformed cladding materials.

The rails in turn must be suitably fixed to the substrate to achieve the desired load resistance.

Fire performance

Systems can be designed and installed to comply with all current regulations and guidance.
