GA/24.12.09 PRETTY 1/2
GIVE YOUR HOME MORE THAN A PRETTY FACELIFT!
Is your house looking tired and run-down? Turn it into a home you can really be proud of by treating it to external wall insulation to give it a bright new look for the New Year! You can justify this apparent extravagance far more than you could a new kitchen, because external wall insulation will save a substantial amount off your fuel bill, particularly if you live in a solid-walled house. Whatever your property type, you will also notice a big difference in warmth and comfort. If your home takes in any water from driving rain, perhaps due to cracked render, defective cladding or mortar joints, or porous brickwork, external wall insulation will cure these problems simply by giving your home a new outer layer. This consists of insulation to meet today’s demanding standards for new homes, covered by a render of your colour and texture choice, or a brick slip finish. This is a skilled process, generally applied in about three days, by a member of the Insulated Render & Cladding Association, with many years experience. The cost may be comparable with installing double-glazing or a new kitchen. As it can add value to your property, it can often be added to your mortgage as a loan, with some energy suppliers providing a grant towards it with encouragement from the Government. Latest Government figures show that external wall insulation is the most effective insulation process, saving perhaps £400 to £500 a year, whilst effectively reducing your carbon footprint. It is important to insist upon tried and tested British Board of Agrément or Building Research Establishment approved external wall insulation systems, applied by INCA installers with long-term experience of installing external wall insulation. Then an INCA insurance-backed guarantee is available on request. Further information on the process, and a list of local specialist installers is available from the Insulated Render & Cladding Association, at P O Box 12, Haslemere, Surrey GU27 3AH, tel: 01428 654011; fax: 01428 651401; e-mail: inca@inca-ltd.org.uk; www.inca-ltd.org.uk. * * * Note to Editors: Images and further information from Gillian or Leonie on 01428 654011 or download below. * * *
