GA/18.12.09 ADVANCING 1/2INCA CATERS FOR ADVANCING DOMESTIC GRANTS MARKETNew Membership Criteria Meets EU Guidelines
Mindful of the advancing grant market for external wall insulation, the Insulated Render and Cladding Association, the specialist association in this field, has upgraded its membership criteria. This is partly to encourage new fully trained, quality entrants to the market to join, but more importantly to keep up with EU Guidelines. With its 30-year background of leading the industry, the Association is in the pole position to provide help and support to all responsible installers, whether specialist or multi-package, and whether their interests lie in the specialist trade market, on which the Association has built its reputation, or with the one-off domestic market. The Association promotes to registered social landlords, architects, builders, developers, and other specifiers, but also has a separate budget to promote to the general public. In particular, INCA has introduced a technical audit to ensure that the applicant is up to the Association’s high standards. Full Membership will still require two years of experience, but where organisations have been fully trained and are working alongside their system designer, with ongoing monitoring, they can be offered Provisional Membership. The Association offers members free credit-checking, legal, and business advice, and links to CITB training courses. The INCA insurance-backed guarantee scheme is available to all INCA contractor members, where INCA BBA or BRE systems are used. INCA membership is a criteria in many tenders from RSLs and energy suppliers. Members are included on the website, which attracts over 2000 unique visits per month from specifiers and consumers. The Association runs the prestigious Andy Swan Awards, coupled with a Year Book of case studies, and allied to an annual high-profile seminar and exhibition. Attractive trade and consumer literature is available for members’ use. The Association is on all relevant government committees, putting the industry’s viewpoint directly to government. A technical committee produces technical guidance. The Association has Training, Marketing, Technical, and Contractors’ Committees – all intent on driving the industry forward. Membership is offered to external wall insulation systems and components, as well as to contractors.
