WHY SETTLE FOR SECOND BEST!

External Wall Insulation Recommended By Government As Most Effective Insulation Process

When upgrading the walls of your home do not settle for second best! The latest government figures show that external wall insulation is the most effective insulation process – twice to thrice more effective than cavity wall insulation in terms of heat and money saving ability. And that is only one of its many benefits.   External wall insulation is applied to the outside of your property for insulation, weatherproofing, and appearance purposes. Whilst it is ideal for solid-walled and custom-built houses to bring them up to present day standards, it is also perfect for traditional cavity-walled homes needing to be re-rendered or re-pointed. But why wait to have the superior treatment!

You can reinstate the original look of your home with a less tired appearance, or match other properties in the street with a real brick finish. Today’s look couples brick finish on the lower level with render for the first floor. You can go for the really modern architect-designed look by using different colours and finishes. Or you can replicate Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and modern house designs.

The life of your property is extended and its value improved. Heating demand is substantially reduced and any replacement heating system can be of smaller capacity.

Insulated render systems can be applied to the average house in about three working days. They cost from around £70 per square metre for the process, plus allow 30% extra for scaffolding, cill extensions etc. This becomes particularly economical where your property already needs re-rendering or weather-proofing.

Applying an e.w.i. system is sound economics for housing that needs updating: and a good feasible option for most other housing. Insurance-backed guarantees are available. Finance may be available from mortgage lenders particularly via green mortgages, and there are restricted and limited grants from energy retailers, particularly for housing off the gas network and where State benefits are received.

It is important to insist upon tried and tested British Board of Agrément or Building Research Establishment approved e.w.i. systems, from INCA system members, applied by experienced INCA contractors.
