MEETING INCREASING THERMAL INSULATION

STANDARDS FOR NEW BUILD AND REFURB

New Presentation on External Wall Insulation Offered in Specifiers’ Own Offices

Architects and forward-looking builders have led the construction industry in recent years to produce sustainable energy saving buildings. However it is now a necessity and the responsibility of all those controlling building programmes to keep abreast of Building Regulations and government carbon saving commitments.

The process that has rapidly come to the forefront, both for new build and refurbishment/regeneration, as it meets new and increasing thermal insulation demands, is external wall insulation. To assist architects, builders, developers and registered social landlords to understand the usage and benefits of this process, the Insulated Render and Cladding Association is offering talks in specifiers’ own offices. These will be based on a new presentation produced by the Association.

The presentation explains the principles of external wall insulation, its benefits, wall insulation options, and identifies sources of technical support. It illustrates how new build construction is simplified; how demanding thermal insulation requirements are satisfied without longterm risk; how refurbishment problems, including condensation and damp penetration are resolved, and cost effectiveness.

Insulation choices are discussed, also the benefits of high performance render in terms of weather protection; flexible building design and form; and decorative finish, texture and colour, including alternative finishes such as brick slip. Meeting NHBC requirements for lightweight steel-framed buildings is also covered.

The presentation is illustrated with many case studies showing new build and refurbishment of public buildings, such as schools, leisure facilities and medical projects, as well as social and private housing, and prestigious apartments. All can be covered by the INCA insurance guarantee.

To ask for a generic talk in your own offices, or to obtain general information on the external wall insulation process and specialist trained contractors, contact the Insulated Render and Cladding Association, Royal London House, 22-25 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1DX , tel: 0844 249 0040; fax: 0844 249 0042; e-mail: info@inca-ltd.org.uk; www.inca-ltd.org.uk
