Guarantees/InsuranceThe Association provides a Latent Defects Insurance Scheme covering design, materials and workmanship for the refurbishment and new build of all building types. Only participating INCA installers can offer the Scheme on BBA or BRE Certified INCA systems. Why Seek Insurance?Insulated renders and claddings have an excellent twenty-five year UK record of successful installations. Most systems are tested independently in the UK by the British Board of Agrément, or the Building Research Establishment, and carry their Certificates. System designers guarantee their product, and provide training and technical support to their nominated installers. The Insulated Render & Cladding Association (INCA) publishes a Register of Installers, who have been checked as meeting the Association's criteria of membership. However the installer takes responsibility for providing an effective installation - and in carrying out rectification work should this become necessary. Members of INCA are bound under the Association Code of Professional Practice to investigate any customer complaint, take any appropriate remedial action, and agree to Association arbitration should this be required. The Association Latent Defects Insurance SchemeAs an additional protection, exclusive to clients using INCA BBA and BRE systems and INCA Registered Installers, there is the Association's latent defects insurance scheme, covering design, materials and workmanship. It provides technical comfort for the designer and assurance to the client or building owner. INCA members will supply brochures incorporating response slips. It is therefore wise to use an INCA Registered System and an INCA Registered Installer. When to Register for the Scheme Other Matters
to Consider BBA or BRE Certificates for systems selected should be 'final versions', current at the time the contract will proceed: they should be read carefully to ensure the detail matches the intentions of the client. Certificates are for tested complete systems. Components or finishes should not be changed unless they are covered by a 'detail sheet'. The Insurers Individual Guarantees
